Lets Talk...Purple

Purple...why do our clients dismiss this color?  It's labeled too juvenal, too unspecific, too bright or too dark, and always seems to conjure confusion. Take a moment to think about this diverse color. For instance, purple can span the seasons, it can be warm or cold in tone--sounds amazing, yes? We think so!  Here are some beautiful room designs that know just how to treat this tricky little color...

God grant me the serenity...

I designed this room on W. 16th St. in Manhattan for a busy family with 2 small children.  The adults needed a place of their own, of course!  I used this opportunity to show off the photos they take during their travels, and because there were no closets (imagine!) I designed a his and hers wall system to maximize storage and space.  Because of the beautiful multi-paned door, there wasn't room to hang clothes like you would in a normal closet, so these cane doors slide back to reveal clothes that hang facing you like in a department store.  Chic!  The owners already had the gorgeous vintage desk and black marble sculpture.  It makes me want to light the fire and crawl in with someone special...
